Marie L. McIntosh, 70, died May 10, 2010, at Auburn Hospice House, after a brief illness.

Born in Kingston, Ontario, Canada, March 9, 1940, she was the daughter of Cecil and Helena (Wand) Reynolds. She was ultimately raised by her father and her stepmother, Nellie Reynolds, whom she referred to as Grammy Nellie.

As a teen, Marie moved to New York, where in 1958 she married Robert W. McIntosh at Sanborn, N.Y. In 1963, the McIntosh family moved here, where Marie has since resided. Mr. McIntosh died March 1, 1997.

In the early 1960s, Marie began employment at the former Knox General Hospital as a tray aide. She rose through the ranks to become a dietician supervisor at Penobscot Bay Medical Center. She worked with the hospital for 25 years. She later worked a few years with Osram Sylvania in Waldoboro, retiring at the closing of that plant. Since that time, after completing hospice training, she worked as a personal care attendant.

On June 6, 2003, she married Richard L. Rodrigue in Liberty. They had made their home in Warren since that time.

Since giving her heart to Jesus some 22 years ago, Marie has been a faithful, dedicated and vibrant member of the church. For the past several years she has enjoyed fellowship at Abundant Grace Ministry in Searsmont.

She is remembered by her family as a wonderful mother, grandmother and friend to all. She was always concerned about her children and grandchildren and was always willing to help in any way she could. Playing spades on her computer was a favorite pastime.

Other than her parents and first husband, Robert W. McIntosh, Marie was predeceased by a brother, Charles Reynolds.

She is survived by her husband, Richard, of Warren; four sons, Robert W. McIntosh Jr. of Alaska, Ernest W. McIntosh and his wife, Christy, of Waldoboro, Lee W. McIntosh and his wife, Susan, of Kentucky and Terry W. McIntosh and his wife, Heather, of Alaska; two daughters, Kim M. Sullivan and her husband, Foster, of Warren and Tammy R. McIntosh of Waldoboro; three brothers, Jimmy Reynolds, Wayne Reynolds and his wife, Therese, all of Ontario, Canada, and Brian Reynolds and his wife, Ginny, of Illinois; a sister, Veronica Reynolds of Toronto, Canada; 14 grandchildren, Robert Doak and his wife, Tabitha, Miranda McIntosh, Madison McIntosh, Cassidy McIntosh, Dominique Jarrett and her husband, Ethan, Callahan McIntosh, Theron Thibodeau, Morgan McIntosh, Macey McIntosh, Valarie McIntosh, CJ McIntosh, Robbie McIntosh, David McIntosh and Kristin McIntosh; four great-grandchildren, including Wyatt, Katrina and Michael; as well as several nieces and nephews.
