An arrest or summons does not constitute a finding of guilt. An individual charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at criminal proceedings.

Law enforcement officials with Troop D of the Maine State Police responded to the following incidents in Waldo County during the past week. Anyone with information regarding ongoing investigations is asked to call 800-452-4664.

May 2

Trooper Shawn Porter assisted Belfast Police Department with a fight on Route 1 in Belfast. Upon his arrival, Porter was asked to track a person who had fled into the woods. A short time later, Porter’s K-9 partner, Tex, located Wayne Tracy, 51. Tracy was out on bail and had a no-alcohol condition. Tracy had been drinking and he was arrested and transported to the Waldo County Jail. After locating Tracy, Porter was asked to locate another male who had also fled the scene. About an hour later, Porter and Tex located William Foster, 23. Foster was turned over to the Belfast Police Department.

May 4

Trooper Jonah O’Roak arrested Donald Frank, 63, for Class C operating under the influence on Navy Street in Searsport. Frank’s blood alcohol content was 0.19 percent.

Trooper Luke Cunningham investigated a suspicious event in Prospect. Jammie Gamble, 35, reported a window had been opened in his trailer while he was not home. Gamble reported items had been moved in the home, but nothing appeared to be missing.

May 5

Trooper Donald Webber located Timothy Sweetland, 33, on Blackberry Lane in Swanville. Webber determined that Sweetland had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. Sweetland was arrested and taken to the Waldo County Jail.

Webber responded to Baker Road in Winterport. Sylvio Colson, 53, reported that his generator, valued at approximately $3,000, had been stolen from near his residence. The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information on this theft can contact Webber via State Police dispatch in Augusta at 624-7076.

May 7

O’Roak and Webber responded to a residence on Swan Lake Avenue in Swanville to a report of people fighting. Troopers were assisted by Waldo County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Jason Trundy and Deputy Darren Moody. It was determined that brothers Ronald Travis, 19, and Paul Henderson, 23, were fighting. Both were arrested on unrelated criminal arrest warrants and taken to the Waldo County Jail by Trundy and Moody. The assault investigation is ongoing.

Webber stopped Wendell Rezendes, 52, of Belmont on Route 3 in Belfast. Webber determined that Rezendes was operating with a suspended Maine license. Webber issued Rezendes a summons for operating after suspension.

May 9

O’Roak arrested Frederick Sibley, 20, for cultivating marijuana and violations of conditional release. Nineteen marijuana plants, two bags of a usable amount of marijuana and paraphernalia were seized. Trooper Jonathan Russell assisted.
