The songwriters of the library’s Songwriter Sessions will be performing their new works at the Camden Library Coffeehouse Thursday, June 3 led by professional singer/songwriter Mehuman Johnson. The Coffeehouse will begin at 7 p.m.

The musicians have been gathering once a month through the winter to develop their music for the Coffeehouse. In the sessions, the writers work on lyrics, story line, pacing, chord progressions and final presentation. The musicians feature a number of instruments, primarily six- and 12-string guitars, with bass guitar and even a musical saw. The songs range from raucous, loud, and funny to tender and reflective.

The performers will include Jim James, Adam Williams, Peter Herson, Lynne Frey, Gerry Mirabile, Ken Gross and Carol Graff. Jonson also will perform. The Coffeehouse is free, although donations will be accepted, and all are welcome. For more information, call Ken Gross at 236-3440.
