Nancy M. Shute, 80, died May 19, 2010.

She was born in Belfast June 13, 1929, a daughter of Marion and Beulah (Dodge) Goodwin.

She worked as a hairdresser in Belfast for many years and used to bake pies, cookies and sweets for her elderly clients when she did their hair for them at home. Nancy loved the water, especially the ocean, and had a camp at Randall Pond in Brooks for years, where she enjoyed her time very much lying in the sun. She also enjoyed her flower garden and dancing at the Blue Goose. Nancy loved her family and one of her greatest joys was spending time with them.

She was predeceased by her parents and a son, Alan Roberts.

Survivors include two children, Peter Roberts of Brooks, Paula Welch and her husband, Steven, of Brooks; three sisters, Charlotte Bowen and her husband, Norman, of Belfast, Emma Lowe of Brooks and Roberta Riley of Belfast; four grandchildren, Daniel Flood, Joshua Flood, Emily Roberts and Peter Roberts; six great-grandchildren, Dakoda and Ashley Flood, Morgan, Leena, Maya and Peter; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 28, at Pilley Cemetery, Route 7, Brooks.
