The Steamboat Paddlers American Legion baseball squad will hold tryouts Sundays, May 30 and June 6 at 5 p.m. on the Belfast Area High School field.

Any youngster born after Jan. 1, 1991 and who attends high school at Camden Hills, Mount View, Belfast or Searsport is eligible. Prior to the first game, an original birth certificate and parental consent is needed from each player.

Games may be played in Camden-Rockport, Thorndike, Belfast or Searsport depending on player participation and field availability. An 18-game schedule begins Tuesday, June 15 and runs through Friday, July 23.

The Paddlers are part of Zone 1 in Maine American Legion baseball. Other teams in the zone are Bangor, Brewer, Hampden, Orono, Blue Hill, Dover-Foxcroft, Lincoln and Calais.

Team participation is free and open to those of all ages. Players can play both Babe Ruth and American Legion baseball. The American Legion team roster can have 18 players.
