Exploritas and Tidewater Adventures of Maine will offer four-day study programs titled Maine’s Link to the Sea: Discover the Mid-Coast; and The Magic of Maine Art: The Farnsworth Art Museum and Monhegan Island this summer. Exploritas is the new program name for Elderhostel, Inc., the not-for-profit world leader in lifelong learning.

Maine’s Link to the Sea: Discover the Mid-Coast offers an exploration of Maine’s maritime history and artistic and cultural heritage by going behind-the-scenes at the Penobscot Marine Museum, Belfast Historical Society, the Farnsworth Art Museum in Rockland and the Castine Historical Society. The program will run Tuesday evening, July 6 through midday Saturday, July 10.

The Magic of Maine Art: The Farnsworth Art Museum and Monhegan Island celebrates Maine’s artistic heritage by going behind-the-scenes at the Farnsworth Art Museum for an in-depth study of Maine in art and new insight into the Wyeth dynasty, and participants will witness for themselves the artistic inspiration of Monhegan Island on a day trip to the island. Dates are Aug. 8 through 12; and Sept. 26 through 30.

Enrollment for both programs is limited enrollment, and all-inclusive overnight and commuter tuitions are available. For more information, contact Judy Gannon at 323-4857 or gannon.jj@gmail.com; or Exploritas at (800) 454-5768 or online at exploritas.org.
