During the Belfast Gallery Walk Friday, June 4, Roots & Tendrils will host an artist reception from 5 to 8 p.m. for “PANORAMA,” its current show of works by fine art photographer Lisa B. Martin. The show continues through June 27 at Roots & Tendrils, just off lower Main Street at 2 Cross St.

Martin has resided in Maine since 1982 and currently lives in a renovated farmhouse in the countryside with her husband and daughter. She has been an adjunct faculty member at Unity College since 2005. She received her master of fine arts degree in visual art in 2009. Her work has been described as following in the traditions of Surrealism. Its magic is produced in broad daylight, making manifest dreams in the tradition shared by image-makers and writers as diverse as Francesca Woodman, David Lynch and Stephen King. All of the images in the PANORAMA series were made using a large-format camera and traditional films.

In addition to showcasing works by up and coming artists, Roots & Tendrils features a variety of modern handmade items from Maine crafters and designers, as well as a year-round calendar of live music events.

Gallery hours are Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Fridays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and, beginning in June, Sundays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information, visit rootsandtendrils.com.
