An arrest or summons does not constitute a finding of guilt. An individual charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at criminal proceedings.

Law enforcement officials with the Waldo County Sheriff’s Office reported the following activity between May 19 and May 25.

May 14 (late entry)
Shane, Milliard, 18, of Unity was summoned for assault.

May 18 (late entry)
Gus C. Robbins, 53, of Rockland was arrested for operating under the influence and operating without a license on Route 3 in Belmont.

Kevin C. Jewell, 22, of Searsport was arrested and charged with violation of condition of release, harassment by telephone and violation of protection order.

Alex L. Sargent, 17, of Troy was summoned for speeding 80 mph in a 55 mph zone in Unity.

May 19
Travis Knowlton, 20, of Swanville was arrested for violation of condition of release.

Corey D. Pellitier, 24, of Orono was summoned for speeding 62 mph in a 45 mph zone on Route 141 in Swanville.

May 20
Austin T. Stevens, 17, of Swanville was summoned for carrying a passenger beyond license restriction.

Nathan S. Raleigh, 30, of Northport was summoned for speeding 68 mph in a 45 mph zone on Route 52 in Northport.

May 21
Monica Martin, 43, of Belmont was driving her 1991 Land Rover SUV on Tilden Way in Belmont at about 5:50 p.m. and was turning left onto Back Belmont Road to travel west when she crossed the eastbound lane that John Downs, 60, of Belfast was traveling on. Downs attempted to brake to avoid Martin but lost control of his 2007 Suzuki motorcycle, which skidded and hit the front bumper of Martin’s car. Downs was thrown from his motorcycle. Belfast Ambulance and Rescue Service took Downs to Waldo County General Hospital, where he was inspected. He was later taken to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor. Chief Deputy Bob Keating of the Waldo County Sheriff’s Office said he didn’t believe Downs’ injuries were life-threatening. Damage to Downs’ motorcycle was estimated at $3,000. No damage was reported to Martin’s car. Martin was uninjured in the collision, according to Keating.

At about 1:15 p.m., Bradley J. Spencer, 23, of Bucksport was traveling east on Bowden Point Road in Prospect when a deer came across and hit the front fender of Spencer’s 2000 Dodge four-door. The deer caused $600 worth of damage to Spencer’s car. Police said they were unsure whether the deer was killed in the accident.

May 22
Edward Cook, 64, of Fairfield was summoned for operating after suspension.

Hugh S. Kirkpatrick, 74, of Caribou was summoned for speeding 74 mph in a 50 mph zone on Route 3 in Liberty.

Raymond D. Preston Jr., 51, of Winterport was arrested for operating under the influence and for violating condition of release.

May 23
Leon A. Rancourt, 40, of Winterport was summoned for an inspection sticker violation.

Cody A. Miller, 17, of Hampden was summoned for speeding 63 mph in a 35 mph zone on South Main Street in Winterport.

Travis G. McKenney, 37, of Winterport was summoned for speeding 53 mph in a 35 mph zone on Meadow Road in Winterport.

May 24
Katherine A. Hayes, 46, of Belmont was summoned for speeding 64 mph in a 45 mph zone on Route 52 in Northport.

Anthony W. McCarty, 38, of Stockton Springs was summoned for operating after suspension.

Melford K. Harvey, 20, of Waldo was arrested on a warrant for operating after suspension.

May 25
Laurie-Ann McSorely, 45, of Rockland was summoned for an inspection sticker violation.
