An arrest or summons does not constitute a finding of guilt. An individual charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at criminal proceedings.

Law enforcement officials with Troop D of the Maine State Police responded to the following incidents in Waldo County during the past week. Anyone with information regarding ongoing investigations is asked to call 800-452-4664.

May 18
Trooper Jonah O’Roak investigated an unattended death in Freedom. Investigation revealed the victim suffered from health complications. Nothing suspicious was reported.

May 21
Trooper Jonathan Russell investigated a theft complaint at a snowmobile club in Unity. Gasoline and firewood were reported stolen some time in the last several weeks. Police are continuing their investigation.

May 19
Trooper Patrick Munzing responded to a theft complaint on Kimball Road in Jackson. The victim reported a furnace had been stolen from a mobile home. Investigation is ongoing.

May 20
Trooper Bethany Couturier stopped Pauline Hopkins, 45, on Route131 in Belmont. Hopkins was summoned for operating after suspension.

Couturier also stopped a vehicle on School Street in Unity. The operator of the vehicle, Mark Meierdiark, 36, was arrested for operating after suspension and taken to Waldo County Jail.

Trooper Donald Webber stopped a vehicle on Route 7 in Brooks. The operator of the vehicle, Rickey Curtis, 41, was summoned for operating after suspension.

Webber also stopped Angela Noyes, 38, on School Street in Unity. Noyes was summoned for operating after suspension.
