An arrest or summons does not constitute a finding of guilt. An individual charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at criminal proceedings.

Law enforcement officials with the Waldo County Sheriff’s Office reported the following activity between May 26 and June 1.

May 15 (late entry)
John J. Patrick, 19, of Brooks was summoned for speeding 53 mph in a 25 mph zone on Route 7 in Brooks.

May 25 (late entry)
Bradford Hersey, 18, of Winterport was summoned for illegal possession of liquor by a minor by consumption.

At about 5:50 p.m., Marie Curry Bradley, 73, of Tequesta, Fla., was driving a 2010 Datsun van and was backing out of a parking space in the Bayside Store parking lot on Bayside Street in Northport when she backed into the 2001 Mitsubishi SUV owned by Wade E. Sanborn, 53, of Surry. Damage to Surry’s bumper and to his passenger side door, which had been partially open, was estimated at $500. Damage to Bradley’s car was estimated at $1,000.

May 27
John H. Murphy Jr., 49, of Yarmouth was summoned for speeding 74 mph in a 55 mph zone on Route 3 in Liberty.

William J. Baggett, 63, of Wrightsville Beach, N.C., was summoned for attaching false plates.

Zachary D. Kostusyk, 17, of Winterport was traveling south on Route 1A in Frankfort at about 11:35 a.m. He later told police he had looked down to pick up an item that had fallen to the floor and when he looked up, found he had been driving into the guardrail. Damage to the 1998 Chevrolet van Kostusyk was driving was estimated at $2,500. Kostusyk was not injured in the crash. Deputy Benjamin Seekins responded to the accident

May 28
Kirsty A. Myers, 28, of Winterport was traveling on Route 69 in Winterport at about 6:15 a.m. when, after reaching down to get something from her purse, she veered off the left side of the road and went into a ditch, striking an embankment. Damage to Myers’ 1993 Buick four-door was estimated at $2,000. Myers suffered minor injuries as a result of the crash. Deputy Seekins responded to the accident.

May 29
Stephen Joy, 21, of Searsmont was summoned for illegal attachment of registration plates.

At about 12:35 a.m., Brandon H. Hurd, 29, of Brooks was parked in a parking lot off of Swan Lake Avenue in Swanville. A vehicle leaving the parking lot hit Hurd’s 2002 Jeep SUV, causing $500 worth of damage. According to police, no one saw the accident happen and the unknown driver of the vehicle did not stop.

At about 3 a.m., Michael R. Shea, 28, of Knox was traveling west on North Searsport Road when he fell asleep at the wheel, missed the corner and went straight into the stream. Damage to Shea’s 2001 Audi four-door was estimated at $1,000. Shea was not injured.

At about 9:40 a.m., Glen J. Skillings, 52, of Frankfort was driving his 1980 Yamaha motorcycle east on Frankfort Road when a deer came across the road into Skillings’ path. Skillings hit the deer and skidded down the road about 10 feet. Damage to Skillings’ motorcycle is estimated at $1,500. Skillings suffered unknown injuries to the left side of his body.

May 30
Michael R. Shea, 28, of Knox was summoned for leaving the scene of a property damage accident and for operating after suspension.

At about 8:25 a.m., Janet A. Dutson, 47, of Searsmont parked her 2008 Volkswagen two-door on the side of the northbound lane facing south on North Main Street in Searsmont. A vehicle hit the front passenger side of Dutson’s car, causing $800 worth of damage to it. The unknown driver of the vehicle left the scene. Police say no one saw the vehicle.

May 31
Amber N. Jerome, 27, of Belfast was summoned for speeding 50 mph in a 35 mph on Searsport Avenue in Belfast.

Robert S. Picard II, 26, of Vassalboro was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of schedule Z drugs and with stealing drugs.

Sarah R. Higgins, 25, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear and for unpaid fines.
