An arrest or summons does not constitute a finding of guilt. An individual charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at criminal proceedings.

The Lincolnville Police Department reported the following activity from May 22 to May 31.

May 22

Officer Merl Reed responded to a criminal mischief complaint on private property on High Street. The complaint remains under investigation.

William S. Blair, 49, of East Orland was issued a summons for speeding 42 mph in a 25 mph zone by Reed on Main Street.

Kathryn Baxter, 54, of Hope was issued a summons for an expired inspection sticker by Reed on Atlantic Highway.

Blair Offen, 44, of Belfast was issued a summons for speeding 56 mph in a 30 mph zone by Reed on Hope Road.

May 23

Linda Boland, 53, of Lincolnville was summoned for speeding 43 mph in a 25 mph zone by Reed on Main Street while conducting stationary radar. Reed determined Boland was operating with a conditional license and after failing standard sobriety tests Boland was transported by Reed to Waldo County Corrections, where an intoxilyzer test was performed and it was determined Boland was over the .08 limit for consumption of alcohol. Boland was, in addition, arrested for operating under the influence and operating beyond license restrictions.

May 24

Officer Robert Cartier is investigating two separate burglary complaints reported at businesses on Atlantic Highway. Approximately $11,130 in cash and equipment has been reported stolen. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Lincolnville Police Department at 763-3555 or Waldo County Sheriff’s Office at 338-2040. The complaints remain under investigation.

Cartier conducted a seat-belt detail on Main Street. Christopher Ray, 29, of Lincolnville was issued a summons for failure to wear a seat belt and a criminal summons for operating after suspension.

Cartier issued written warnings for speed and failure to carry an insurance card in the vehicle during a radar detail on Main Street.

May 25

Samuel Appleton, 37, of Lincolnville was issued a summons for a seat-belt violation by Cartier on Main Street.

Kevin Merrifield, 44, of Belmont was issued a summons for a seat-belt violation by Cartier on Moody Mountain Road.

Christopher Moody, 33, of Camden was issued a summons for a seat-belt violation by Cartier on Main Street.

Carrie Backiel, 30, of Warren was issued a summons for speeding 44 mph in a 25 mph zone and a summons for a seat-belt violation by Cartier on Main Street.

Elaine Peaslee, 61, of Belmont was issued a summons for a seat-belt violation by Cartier on Main Street.

May 26

Julio Santana, 28, of Lincolnville was issued a summons for a seat-belt violation by Officer Ryan Nickerson on Main Street

May 27

Craig Thomas, 43, of Lincolnville was issued a summons for a seat-belt violation on Atlantic Highway by Officer Brian Lunt.

Melissa Yandell, 55, of Lincolnville was issued a summons for a seat-belt violation on Atlantic Highway by Lunt.

Michael Feener, 47, of Lincolnville was issued a summons for a seat-belt violation by Lunt on Beach Road.

Leroy Dodge, 56, of Liberty was issued a summons for a seat-belt violation by Lunt on Main Street.

Lisa Littlefield, 30, of Searsport was issued a summons for a seat-belt violation by Lunt on Main Street.

Neil Bowden, 26, of Camden was issued a summons for a seat-belt violation by Lunt on Atlantic Highway.

Kenneth Thumith, 38, of Rockland was issued a summons for an expired inspection sticker (over 60 days) and a summons for failure to provide proof of insurance by Nickerson on Atlantic Highway while conducting a radar detail.

Michael Lewis, 22, of Belfast was issued a summons for failure to provide proof of insurance by Nickerson on Atlantic Highway. Nickerson also issued Lewis a written warning for no plate lights.

Maurice Winslow, 26, of Waterford, Conn., was issued a summons for speeding 49 mph in a 30 mph zone and failure to provide proof of insurance by Nickerson on Hope Road while conducting stationary radar.

Bear Hopkins, 32, of Union was issued a summons for a seat-belt violation by Nickerson on Main Street.

Nickerson issued four written warnings on Belfast Road and Atlantic Highway for headlight and taillight defects.

May 28

James Morse, 57, of Brooklin was issued a summons for a seat-belt violation by Officer Curt Andrick on Main Street.

Glen Chapman, 38, of Lincolnville was issued a summons for a seat-belt violation on Main Street by Andrick..

Michael Whitcomb, 31, of Belfast was issued a summons for a seat-belt violation on Main Street by Andrick.

Amy Marden, 28, of Morrill was issued a summons for a seat-belt violation by Andrick on Main Street.

Nicholas Hotham, 30, of Albion was issued a summons for a seat-belt violation on Beach Road by Andrick.

Samuel Smith, 20, of Rockport was issued a summons for a seat-belt violation on Atlantic Highway by Lunt.

Justin Haver, 21, of Searsmont was issued a summons for a seat-belt violation by Lunt on Atlantic Highway.

Briana Cummings, 26, of Camden was issued a summons for a seat-belt violation on Atlantic Highway.

Lunt issued two written warnings for speed and inspection during a seat-belt detail on Atlantic Highway.

Donald Heald, 41, of Lincolnville was issued a summons for a seat-belt violation by Lunt on Main Street.

Patti Braley, 37, of Morrill was issued a summons for a seat-belt violation by Lunt on Main Street.

Dianne Hall, 58, of Searsport was issued s summons for a seat-belt violation on Main Street by Lunt.

Sarah Stackey, 27, of Camden was issued a summons for a seat-belt violation on Main Street by Lunt.

Jessica Smart, 31, of Benton was issued a summons for a seat-belt violation by Lunt on Main Street.

Albert Moores Jr., 48, of Belfast was issued a summons for a seat-belt violation on Main Street by Lunt.

May 29

William Mahoney, 55, of Northport was issued a summons for a seat-belt violation on Atlantic Highway by Lunt.

Anthony Scoppa, 21, of North Andover, was issued a summons for a seat-belt violation on Main Street by Lunt.

Lunt issued three written warnings for speed during a seat-belt detail on Main Street.

May 30

Cartier responded to Black Brook Drive for a complaint of a found dog. A black Labrador retriever with no tags was transported to the Camden-Rockport Animal Rescue League.

The Lincolnville Police Department reminds Lincolnville residents and motorists from neighboring communities that May 24 through June 6 is the National Click It Or Ticket Seatbelt Mobilization Campaign and Lincolnville police will be out in force during day and nighttime hours targeting motorists who are not wearing their seat belts.
