Based on the positive reception of April’s Digging Poetry series at the Belfast Free Library, Belfast poet laureate Linda Buckmaster will continue to organize poetry appreciation events throughout the summer. On Tuesday, June 15 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at  Darby’s Restaurant, there will be a reading and discussion by local poets and poetry lovers.

An invited group of poets will read samples from the work of other poets who have influenced their own work and talk about how it affects them personally as poets. Each poet also will read from his or her own work. Attendees can expect favorite Belfast poets, unexpected new voices and summer visiting poets.

Food and drink will be available for purchase, so come early and stay late. It should be a lively conversation. Darby’s is downtown on High Street.
