Randall W. McCauley, 33 of Belmont, passed away unexpectedly on June 2, 2010 at his residence. He was born October 18, 1976 in Belfast, the son of Scott W. Sobey Sr. and Nadine McCauley.

Randy was an excellent carpenter and mechanic who enjoyed the outdoors, animals and helping other people out by lending a hand. He loved to barbecue, and he was a devoted husband and step-father.

He is predeceased by his maternal grandfather, his paternal grandparents and his father, Scott Sobey Sr.

He is survived by his loving wife of nine years, April McCauley of Belmont; his step-children, Christian and Philip Watkins of Belmont; his mother, Nadine McCauley and her partner Scott Brown of Morrill; his step-father, Randy Poland of Ala.; maternal grandmother, Lucille McCleary and her husband, Earl, of Belmont; his siblings, Scott Sobey II of Tenn. and Melissa Sobey and her partner, Dale Fuller, of Frankfort; mothers-in-law, Cornelia Barbour of Belfast and Mary Ellen Gallant and her husband, Arnie, of Portland; father-in-law James Begley of Fla.; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins, as well as extended family.

A memorial gathering will be held in Randy’s memory on Saturday, June 12, starting at 1 p.m. at Nadine McCauley and Scott Brown’s home (68 North Main Street in Morrill).
