“Pete Seeger: The Power of Song” is an upbeat film that will be shown Wednesday, June 23 at 6:15 p.m. in the Abbott Room of Belfast Free Library, 106 High St. The film will be preceded by a 5:30 p.m. potluck supper, also at the Abbott Room; there is no oven, so items cannot be heated.

The film combines never-before-seen archival footage and personal films made by Seeger and his wife and chronicles the life of this legendary artist and political activist. Many of Seeger’s most famous songs and performances are included in the film. It is guaranteed to be inspiring and fun.

Admission is free, but donations are welcome. The film is part of the monthly Community Forum series of the Peace and Justice Group of Waldo County. Normally the series is held on the third Wednesday of the month, but in June it is the fourth Wednesday. For more information, contact Larry Dansinger at 525-7776.
