The public is invited to an opening reception for the “Archetype IV (the will to meaning)” group show Friday, June 18 from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Jean B. Chalmers Gallery of Lincoln Street Center for Arts and Education, 24 Lincoln St.

As in previous “Archetype” shows, the work explores eros, thanatos and the ground of being. Participating artists are Chris Barstow of Rockport; Naya Blue, Lisa Martin of Unity; Clarity (Robert and Su.Sane Hake) of Rockland and Warren; Bob Conrad and Jan McCoy of Tenants Harbor; Janelle Delicata of Prospect; Charles Laurier Dufour, Eric Leppanen and Lucinda Talbot of Belfast; Diane Green Hebert, Michele LeGris, Susanna Navarro and Lois Anne of Rockland; Nancy Kahler of Addison; Jody King of Boothbay Harbor; Jill Marie Langdon of Thomaston; Jean Matlack of West Rockport; Judith Mitchell of Waldoboro; ED Moffitt of Belfast and Sandy Point; Alan Ross of Readfield; Louise Shorette of Belfast and Jackson; Anne Spencer of Cape Jellison; Linda Stevenson of Gardiner; and Kay Sullivan of Palermo.
