The Waldo County Extension Homemakers Council has selected two recent high school graduates to receive its annual scholarships. The recipients this year are Joshua Bither, a graduate of Mount View High School, and Randall V. Nichols, a graduate of Belfast Area High School.

Joshua Bither will be attending Eastern Maine Community College in Bangor, and plans to major in civil engineering. Randall V. Nichols will go to the University of Maine, Orono, and plans to major in secondary education. Nichols wants to be a high school English teacher in Maine.

The scholarships for the Waldo County Extension Homemakers Council are presented annually to Waldo County residents who are graduating high school seniors. They must be enrolled in a course of study in a post-graduate school or college. This year the recipients were selected from among 21 applicants throughout Waldo County.
