June 25 the Belfast Garden Club’s Open Garden Days came to the garden of Bland Banwell at 133 Miller St. The garden has been developed over 15 years by Banwell and garden assistant Richard Yeaton. It has been planned to have color for many months of the year, beginning in March, Banwell said. The roughly half-acre space contains several different gardens, each discrete and yet contributing to the whole.

Open Garden Days continues through Sept. 10. Tickets may be purchased at each garden on the day of the tour for a donation of $4 for one garden, or $15 for a five-visit ticket. Proceeds benefit the garden club’s civic beautification projects. ForĀ  more information, call Diane Allmayer-Beck at 338-3105 or Martha Laitin at 948-2814 or visit belfastgardenclub.org.
