Project Tandem will present SHIFT, a full day of bicycles, art and the environment on Friday, July 2 in Rockland on Friday.

The event starts at 3 p.m. at Bikesenjava on Main Street, where riders will meet for a six- to 16-mile Ride for the Gulf to raise funds to help the Dauphin Island Sea Lab Foundation restore gulf coast wetlands, rehabilitate birds and sea-life and recover from the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill.

At 5 p.m. Project Tandem kicks off their National Tour at Asymmetrick Arts. Food and drink will be provided by Brevetto and a raffle of prizes will be held to thank Ride for the Gulf participants and donors.

At 9 p.m. Bikesenjava presents Follow ME, a free for ages 21-and-older screening at Waterworks Restaurant. Bikesenjava will raffle bicycle prizes also for Ride for the Gulf participants and donors at 9:30 p.m.

Participation in the Ride for the Gulf is by minimum purchase of one raffle ticket at $25. All proceeds go to the Dauphin Island Sea Lab Foundation, Dauphin Island, Ala.
