The Searsmont Town Library invites the public to its 21st annual book and bake sale Saturday, July 17, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. This major fundraiser is free to the public, and all proceeds from the sale will go toward the purchase of new books, program materials and equipment for the Searsmont Library.

The sale features something for everyone: all types of books — including children’s, Maine authors, new and used books, fiction and nonfiction, higher value books, research and how-to books. All books are new to this sale; none have been carried over from previous years’ sales.

There will be a bake sale featuring everything from pies to homemade bread to fudge and everything in between. Sandwiches and muffins, coffee and soda can be bought by sale attendees while they shop.

There will also be a huge selection of treasures from “Grandma’s Attic” — a giant indoor and outdoor yard sale. Donations to the sale are welcome. For more information, call the library at 342-5549 to see what items are accepted, and dates for delivery.

The silent auction will run until 1 p.m. Area businesses have donated items including restaurant and store gift certificates, tools and building supplies, artwork, savings bonds, subscriptions and services.
