Camp Forest, a wilderness day and expedition camp for children, participated in the annual July 4th parade in Brooks, where the camp is located. The campers who were able to attend decorated the float and themselves. They were shooting arrows of natural candy donated by the Belfast Coop, distributing seashells and information.

Adam Stone, a local man, is senior counselor. Bella, a Shipibo Indian from the Ucayali River in the Amazon Basin of Peru, Trey Grenfell, a student at Unity College, and Maya Elson, new to us this year, are counselors. Older past campers are present as junior counselors and apprentices. Camp Forest offers weekly day camp, one-night sleepovers, half-week expeditions, full-week expeditions and short classes for adults.
