Edward A. Button Sr., 78, died July 7, 2010, at his residence.

He was born in Lebanon, Pa., Feb. 11, 1932, a son of Alfred and Mary (Moyer) Clark. Ed came to Belfast in 1946 and worked at Waldo Shoe factory for more than 25 years and then at Penobscot Frozen Foods for 13 years prior to retiring.

He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of the Belfast Curling Club with his wife, Georgie, loved to square dance, loved golfing and liked watching sports.

He was predeceased by his parents.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Georgie, of Belfast; three children, Charles Button and his girlfriend, Brenda Foss, of Lewiston, Edward Button Jr. and his girlfriend, Carol Pendleton, of Belfast and Helen Button and her boyfriend, Randy Rhodes, of Belfast; and five grandchildren, Paul Button, Scott and Amanda Pendleton, Carl Grove, Brandi Howard, Elijah Crosby and Dalton Reynolds.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 15, at Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast with the Rev. Ken Davenport officiating.  Online condolences may be offered to the family at ripostafh.com.
