The Town of Winterport and Winterport Open Stage will host “Winterport’s Got Talent!”, modeled after the popular TV show, in August. Auditions for the competition will be held on Saturday, July 17 from 10 a.m. to noon; and Thursday, July 22 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Samuel L. Wagner School, Mountainview Drive.

Singers, dancers, jugglers, comedians, animal trainers, oral interpreters, puppeteers and others are encouraged to audition. Auditioners should be at least 16 years old and acts should be less than five minutes in length. Selected acts will compete for the grand prize in the “Winterport’s Got Talent!” show Thursday, Aug. 5 at 7 p.m. at the school. The winner will be decided by audience vote and will receive a  $100 prize.

“Winterport’s Got Talent!” is hosted by Winterport Open Stage and sponsored by the Town of Winterport as part of a week-long series of events commemorating the 150th anniversary of the town.
