The Maine Games, in conjunction with the Maine Shrine Lobster Bowl All-Star Classic Football Game, will offer an official NFL Punt, Pass & Kick competition at Biddeford’s Waterhouse Field on Saturday, July 24.

This event is being hosted by the Biddeford Youth Football Association. Boys and girls ages of 6-15 are invited to compete for Maine Games gold, silver and bronze medals, but also a chance to advance to the PPK Sectional competition to be held later this fall. Sectional winners will be invited to Gillette Stadium, in Foxboro, Mass., to compete in an “NFL Team” competition during a New England Patriots home game this fall. Four “Team” PPK winners in each age/gender division from around the country will then compete for the national title during an NFL playoff game in January.

The local event starts at 9 a.m. with athlete check-in. Athletes are encouraged to pre-register by going online to mainegames.org/puntpasskick.html[1].

To date, boys and girls from as far as Gardiner, have signed up to take part in this competition which has been offered by the NFL since 1961, making it the longest running event of its kind in the country. In Biddeford, the top two finishers in each age/gender division will advance to the finals, which will be held during halftime at the Lobster Bowl.

This is the only PPK event scheduled for Maine this year, and all Maine residents who meet the age requirements are eligible
