With the Midcoast Babe Ruth League baseball season just a memory, many local players will join forces as the District 2 state-qualifying tournaments are set to kick off in the coming days.

All six rosters are set, with representatives from Rockport, Rockland, Camden, Belfast and Searsport making up three different teams that will represent Midcoast North. Midcoast South will be comprised of representatives from Damariscotta, Newcastle, Wiscasset, Georges Valley, Union, Waldoboro and Boothbay.

Both Midcoast North and Midcoast South teams have three different teams throughout three different age groups at the 13-year-old, 14-year-old and 15-year-old age levels. All district tournaments are double-elimination, with the winners moving on to the state tournament to compete against district representatives from the state’s other five districts.

The District 2 15-year-old tournament will be held over the weekend at the Georges Valley High School baseball field in Thomaston and will feature teams from Bath and Mt. Ararat, along with Midcoast North and Midcoast South. The championship game will be slated for Sunday, July 18 at 1 p.m., with an “if necessary” game to follow.

The District 2 14-year-old tournament will be held over the weekend at Wiscasset High School and will feature Midcoast North and Midcoast South. Since only Midcoast North and Midcoast South are participating in the tournament, the two teams will play a best-of-three series, A doubleheader is scheduled for Saturday, July 17 with an “If necessary” game slated for Sunday, July 18.

The District 2 13-year-old tournament will be held at Mt. Ararat High School in Topsham and will feature teams from Brunswick and Mt. Ararat, along with both Midcoast North and Midcoast South. The championship game is set for Sunday, July 18.

Team members for the Midcoast North 15s include Tyler Prescott, Gabe Desjardins, Scott Kulikowski, Greg Clark and Joel Berry of Belfast; Eliot Grindle, Alex Crans and Adam Carlsen of Camden; and Evan Drinkwater, Taylor Hall, Connor Hart and Marshal Crockett of Rockport. The team is managed by Andrew Hart of Rockport and coached by Kurt Drinkwater of Rockport and Mike Clark of Belfast.

The Midcoast North 15s will kick off the tournament Friday, July 16 at 1 p.m. in Thomaston when they face Midcoast South.

Team members for the Midcoast South 15s include Dylan Maloney, Drew Townsend and Seth Batty of Georges Valley; Israel Dauite, Nathaniel Baptist Jeff Cheney and Andy Bartlett of Damariscotta; Brandon Soper of Waldoboro; Dalton Leeman, Stephan Quinlan and Brandon Bonney of Newcastle; and Mike Kee of Union. The team is managed by Don Shields of Georges Valley and coached by Scott Hastings of Union and Darryl Townsend of Georges Valley.

The Midcoast South 15s will kick off the tournament Friday, July 16 at 1 p.m. when they face Midcoast North in Thomaston.

Team members for the Midcoast North 14s include Damion Benner of Belfast; Sam Berry, Joe Chamberlain, Jake Davee, Merrill Hall and Matt Vitagliano of Rockport; Chandler Crans, Isaac Filderman and Caleb McFarland of Camden; James Harvey of Searsport; and Dan Hendricks and J.T. Tobin of Rockland. The team is managed by Paul McFarland and coached by Chuck Crans, both of Camden.

The Midcoast North 14s will kick off their tournament Saturday, July 17 at 10 a.m. when they face Midcoast South in Wiscasset.

The Midcoast South 14s includes Cody Graves, Chandler Longfellow and Eddie Stewart of Wiscasset; Spencer Alden, A.J. Oliver, Alex Tomasello and Travis Creamer of Damariscotta; Tim Farrar and Ryan Ripley of Waldoboro; Nick Judge and Ben Oakes-Boynton of Georges Valley; and Jared Spofford of Boothbay. The team is managed by Allen Tomacello of Damariscotta and coached by Eric Graves of Wiscasset.

The Midcoast South 14s will kick off their tournament Saturday, July 17 at 10 a.m. against Midcoast North in Wiscasset.

Team members for the Midcoast North 13s include Chris Smith and Xavier Roman of Belfast; Cailean Schecter, Daulton Wickenden and Sean Pierce of Camden; and Connor Graffam, John Hall, Matt Crockett and Aubrey Pennington of Rockport. The team is managed by Ted Graffam of Rockport and coached by Jeff Hall of Rockport.

The Midcoast North 13s will kick off their tournament Friday, July 16 at 1 p.m. against Midcoast South at Mt. Ararat High School in Topsham.

Team members for the Midcoast South 13s include Micah Williamson, Cal Robbins and Jamie Temple of Waldoboro; Scott Strong, Jimmy Strong and Walker Ranney of Georges Valley; Travis Padilla and Dylan McMahon of Wiscasset; and Jared McLain, Greg Anderson and Brett Cowan of Newcastle. The team is managed by Richard Williamson of Waldboro and coached by Peter Anderson of Newcastle and Scott Strong of Georges Valley.

The Midcoast South 13s will kick off their tournament Friday, July 16 at 1 p.m. when they face Midcoast North at Mt. Ararat High School in Topsham.
