Belfast Free Library, 106 High St., will present A French Bouquet of Songs, a summer recital, Sunday, July 25 at 4 p.m. in the Gammans Room.

The performance will feature soprano Lindley Hanlon accompanied by Barbara Kemp on piano and will include a selection of songs on the theme of flowers and gardens by Berlioz, Faure, Debussy and Chausson.

Hanlon has studied vocal performance at the Juilliard School in New York City and at the Opera Works Program of the University of California, Northridge. She has sung with the Surry Opera in Japan, Russia and Surry; and is a member of the Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church Choir in New York City. Hanlon holds a doctorate in film from New York University and is a professor of film at Brooklyn College of the City University of New York. She resides in New York City and Belfast.

Kemp, a native Californian, now divides her time between Baltimore and Maine. She is a graduate of San Francisco State University and has performed solo and chamber music concerts extensively throughout Northern California and Maryland.

All are invited to come and enjoy this recital performed in the wonderful ambiance of the Gammans Room. This event is free and open to the public. For more information, call the library at 338-3884, ext. 10.
