Camden-Rockport earned a spot in the District 2 Little League 11- and 12-year-old baseball championship game(s) and Rockland stayed alive as both Midcoast teams notched recent victories in the double-elimination tournament.

Camden-Rockport (2-0) beat Waldo County (1-1) 7-1 July 16 and Rockland (1-1) defeated Belfast (0-2) 9-6 July 17, with both games being played at E. Allen Gordon Field in Rockland. Belfast has been eliminated from the tourney.

The first of potentially two championship games will be Tuesday, July 20 in Rockland. Meanwhile, Rockland will face Waldo County on Monday, July 19 at 5:30 p.m. in an elimination game. The winner of that contest will meet Camden-Rockport for the title.

On July 16, C-R beat Waldo County 7-1, as Andrew Hall (run on 3 hits, 3 walks, 10 strikeouts in 5 1/3 innings) and Kienan Brown (no runs, no hits, no walks, 2 strikeouts in 2/3 inning) pitched for the winners, who were led offensively by Alex Forcillo (single), Ryan Pierce (2 singles), Teddy Laurita (single) and Hall (home run).

Waldo County’s pitchers included Anthony Defeo (3 runs on 4 hits, 4 walks, 2 strikeouts in 4 1/3 innings), Alex Canning (3 runs on a hit, hit batter, 3 walks in 1 1/3 innings), Mikey Hustus (run, hit, walk) and Troy Reynolds (no hits, no walks, strikeout in 1/3 inning).

Pacing Waldo County’s offense were Jake Black with a home run and Nathan Wren and Avery Leclerc both with singles.

Rockland stayed alive in the double-elimination tourney with a 9-6 win over Belfast July 17 at E. Allen Gordon Field.

Rockland, which collected 11 hits and made three errors, tallied five runs in the first inning to take control and added two in the third, one in the fourth and one in the sixth. Belfast, which had four hits and six errors, scored a run in the first stanza, three in the third and two in the sixth.

Keenan Hendricks (run on a hit, walk, 5 strikeouts in 2 1/3 innings), Jacob Bartlett (2 runs on 2 hits, 2 strikeouts in 2 innings) and Riley Sprague (3 runs on a hit, walk, 2 strikeouts in 1 2/3 innings) pitched for Rockland.

Keying the winners’ offense were Zach Roman (double, 2 runs), Zach Peaco (2 doubles, 3 runs), Nick Mazurek (double, RBI), Hendricks (double, run), Noah Slivinsky (single, 2 RBIs, run), Bartlett (double, 3 RBIs), Thomas Curtis (single, double, run, RBI), Ben Beckman (single, RBI, run) and Jordan Matero (single).

For Belfast, Sam Kulikowski (7 runs on 7 hits in 3 innings) and Lucien Smith (2 runs on 4 hits, 3 walks, 2 strikeouts in 3 innings) pitched. Leading the offense were Alex Flagg (2 runs), Kulikowski (single, run), Soren Moesswilde (2 singles, 2 runs) and Smith (double, run).

Previously in the double-elimination portion of the 11-12 tourney, C-R beat Belfast 6-0 and Waldo County blanked Rockland 4-0.
