An arrest or summons does not constitute a finding of guilt. An individual charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at criminal proceedings.

Law enforcement officials with Troop D of the Maine State Police responded to the following incidents in Waldo County during the past week. Anyone with information regarding ongoing investigations is asked to call 800-452-4664.

July 5
Trooper Bethany Couturier stopped a vehicle on Route 141 in Swanville. A passenger in the vehicle, Charles Major, 26, was taken into custody for an outstanding arrest warrant.

Trooper Shawn Porter and his K9 partner, Tex, assisted the Belfast Police Department on a criminal mischief report on Fahey Road.

Trooper Jonathan Russell responded to a criminal mischief report on Atwell Lane in Frankfort. The victim reported that the windshield of her pickup truck had been smashed over the weekend. The investigation is ongoing.

July 6
Trooper Corey Smith responded to a theft report on Lebanon Road in Winterport. The victim reported that several rings, valued at an estimated $6,000, were stolen from her residence. There is a suspect in the case and the investigation is ongoing.

Trooper Elisha Fowlie summoned Joshua Raven, 19, for possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and for not wearing a seat belt.

Couturier investigated a reported violation of a protection order on Cross Road in Swanville. As a result of the investigation, Austin Gardiner, 37, of Hampden was arrested for violation of a protective order.

July 7

Couturier responded to a reported theft at the Old Commercial House on Main Street in Winterport. Stolen were a pair of large gargoyle statues that were posted at the front of the house. Anyone with information is urged to call the Maine State Police at 800-452-4664.

Couturier and Smith responded to Lebanon Road in Winterport for a threatening/harassment-type incident. Investigation revealed this was an ongoing civil issue and the Waldo County Sheriff’s Office responded as well.

Trooper Donald Webber arrested Brandon Carnes, 23, of Frankfort on an outstanding warrant.

Smith took a report of a missing purse which had been lost somewhere between Prospect and Belfast. The purse is described as a small, fabric Vera Bradley purse that is turquoise and brown in color with a floral pattern. Anyone with information should call the Maine State Police at 800-452-4664.

July 8

Smith responded to Main Street in Winterport for a reported home invasion. Upon responding, Smith utilized a K9, but was unable to locate any tracks or evidence of a break-in.

Trooper Luke Cunningham investigated a harassment complaint in Winterport. Three people involved were warned for harassment.

Trooper Johah O’Roak investgated a terrorizing incident on Kendall Road in Winterport. Several interviews were done and the investigation is ongoing.

July 9
O’Roak investigated a criminal mischief report on Route 139 in Monroe.

Porter and K9 Tex conducted a K9 demonstration at Sheepscot Lake Fish and Game for about 15 members.

July 10

Trooper Donald Webber arrested Lisa Howie, 39, of Frankfort on an outstanding warrant.

O’Roak summoned David Patterhsall, 36, and Patricia Johnson, 24, for a criminal mischief incident that took place on Sunny Point Road in Swanville June 1. Johnson was also summoned for operating after suspension.
