Camp Forest, a wilderness day camp for children ages 7-17, is in full swing this season. Registration is still open, with weekly sessions continuing through Aug. 27. Campers arrive at 9 a.m. and depart at 4 p.m. daily. Before and after care is available for an additional charge. Limited financial assistance is available through work trade, farm market and fundraising when available.

Campers are led by skilled counselors in tool safety, shelter building, outdoor safety, tracking, plant identification, tree planting, hiking, cordage, weaving, stone tools and global awareness.

Wilderness expeditions are also available to youth ages 13-17 throughout the summer. Campers can learn and practice primitive skills on the Half Expedition July 26-30, the North Woods Expedition Aug. 9-13, and the Beaver Expedition Aug. 23-27.

Adult workshops are available once a month. The featured workshop Saturday, July 24, teaches the skill of simple shelter construction from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
