Virginia “Ginny” (Whittier) Clements, 95, also of Winterport, died July, 18, 2010, at an Orono health-care facility.

She was born in Millinocket Feb. 11, 1915, the youngest daughter of Joseph and Bertie Whittier.

She graduated from Winterport High School in 1932, and married Kermit Clements, her husband of 68 years, on Feb. 2, 1935. They had three daughters, Joyce, Sharon and Bonnie.

Virginia worked by her husband’s side on their dairy farm for 58 years. She was a woman of strong faith and was a member of the Winterport Methodist Church and in later years enjoyed attending the Monroe Community Church.

She was a wonderful homemaker and enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. Ginny also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, gardening and china-painting. Her greatest joys were being a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Her positive attitude, willingness to help others and unconditional love enriched the lives of every friend and family member. During a family crisis her strength and wisdom were amazing.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Kermit Clements; two daughters, Sharon and Joyce; a son-in-law, Walter Parker; three sisters, Lillie Campbell, Evelyn Bragdon and Eva Littlefield; and four brothers William, Wesley, Ardane and Alton Whittier.
