The 30th annual Maine Sport Triathlon will be Sunday, Sept. 5 at 9 a.m. at Barrett’s Cove on Megunticook Lake.

Registration for the race, which is sponsored by Maine Sport Outfitters in Rockport, begins at 8 a.m. the morning of the race. The entry fee is $40 for individuals and $70 for teams.

The race consists of a half-mile swim, a 26-mile bike ride looping through Camden, Hope and Lincolnville, and a 6.6-mile run through the rolling hills of Camden. The race attracts about 200 participants.

Some of the race features include category prizes, t-shirts to all participants, post race refreshments and a merchandise raffle.

Perhaps one of the highlights this year is the fact Parker Johnson of Lincolnville will be participating in his 30th straight Maine Sport Triathlon, which means he has competed in all of the events.
