The Mount View boys and Georges Valley girls were the only Midcoast high school soccer squads to come away with victories in Tuesday’s games. There were five contests involving local squads on that day.

The Mustangs defeated visiting Maine Central Institute of Pittsfield 3-0 — thanks to a hat track from Aaron Elkins — and the Buccaneers downed host Wiscasset 1-0, thanks to Katlyn Rich’s accurate penalty kick.

It was the second win of the season for the defending state Class C champion Bucs and first victory of the campaign for Mount View.

The Islesboro coed team and Searsport and Mount View girls squads came out on the losing side in their matches against Greenville, Bucksport and MCI, respectively.
