Belfast continued to cruise on the links, while Rockland notched its first win of the season as Midcoast high school squads were swinging and putting for success on area courses Thursday afternoon. Also, Searsport has started strong with two recent victories.

On Thursday, host Belfast remained unbeaten with a win over Camden Hills, while Rockland bested visiting Mount View of Thorndike for its first victory. Additionally, Medomak Valley fell to unbeaten host Lincoln Academy of Newcastle.

Thursday results from matches involving Georges Valley at Dirigo of Dixfield (the Buccaneers lost) and Searsport at Sumner of East Sullivan were not readily available.

Including most of Thursday’s match results, the current local golf standings are: Belfast 3-0, Searsport 2-0, Georges Valley 2-1, Camden Hills 2-2, Medomak Valley 2-2 and Rockland 1-3 and Mount View 0-3.

Belfast 9, Camden Hills 0 … At the par 36 Northport Golf Course, Belfast shot a four-golfer stroke total of 155, while Camden Hills finished at 183. Lion Stephen Simmons, who shot two-under-par 34 for nine holes, was the medalist.

The individual results, with Lions listed first, were: Jackson (36) defeated Jay Knowlton (42): Stephen Simmons (34) beat John Vannorsdall (41); Tim Sticht (48) downed Eddie Socker (54); Dustin Howes (41) bested Miles Ingraham (46); Tyler McDevitt (44) beat Andrew Kyle (59); and Jack Smith (53) beat Matt Eaton (62).

In jayvee matches, Allie Njaa (59) lost to Max Fischer (58); and Jordan Luther (54) beat Jordan Roling (did not finish)

Rockland 7.5, Mount View 1.5 … At the Rockland Golf Course, Mount View shot the lowest individual score, but the Tigers won the overall team match. Rockland finished with a four-golfer stroke total of 172, while the Mustangs of Thorndike finished at 204. Mount View’s Colby Blanchard shot 39 for nine holes as the medalist.

The individual results, with Tigers listed first, were: Cameron Clement (40) lost to Blanchard (39); Reilly Flanagan (43) beat Eric Larrabee (46); Jordan Carter (47) beat Zach Holman (55); Parker Spear (51) defeated Dan Muther (67); Anthony Dayboch (64.5) tied Montana Maynard (64.5); and Connor Clement (42) beat Joel Poulin (64).

Lincoln Academy 8, Medomak Valley 1 … At the par-35 Wawenock Golf Club in Walpole, the unbeaten Eagles bested the Panthers. The Eagles finished with a four-golfer total of 163, while Medomak Valley ended at 189. Lincoln Academy teammates Malcolm Oliver and Seward Matel both finished with 39 for nine holes as co-medalist.

The individual results, with Panthers listed first, were: Adam Lynch (52) lost to Oliver (39); Isaac Greenrose (46) lost to Matel (39); John Wilcox (48) lost to Stephen Quinlan (45); Alex Greenrose (43) beat Jalen Lincoln (44); Zack Judkins (52) lost to Alex Cosgrove (47); and John Murray (59) lost to Goran Johanson (41).

Earlier Searsport results

On Sept. 8 at the par-36 Searsport Pines Golf Course, unbeaten Searsport beat Washington Academy of East Machias. The Vikings (2-0) shot a four-golfer total of 172 and Washington Academy finished at 226. Viking Allen Connor (42) was the medalist.

The individual Searsport scores were: Connor 42, Jacob Allenwood 44, Tim French 43, Alex Carroll 43, Dylan Moody 48, Roland Faunce 48, Ben Bucklin 53 and Jacob Bucklin 64. The Washington Academy scores were: Sam Teer 48, Chris Plaisted 60, Shane Chute 61, Cody Colbeth 64, Bryant Marsh 60, Riley Harriman 62 and Matt McCaslin 57.

On Sept. 1 in a season-opening match at Searsport Pines, the host Vikings beat Deer Isle-Stonington 175-178 in four-golfer stroke totals. The individual results, with Vikings listed first, were: French (48) lost to Sam Grindle (41); Moody (45) defeated Drew Siebert (49); Faunce (48) lost to Connor Morey (38, medalist); Carroll (43) defeated Nick Eaton (50); Allenwood (46) defeated Stephanie Siebert (58); Connor (41) defeated Andy Turner (62); Ben Bucklin (51) defeated Alex Eaton (63); and Jacob Bucklin (66) defeated Nick Danham (69).
