Ralph “Nelson” Greenleaf, 47, died Sept. 1, 2010.

He was born in Belfast and grew up in the surrounding areas. Later in life, he lived in the Bangor area. He was employed by Roof Systems in Bangor for several years. Nelson was a devoted brother who always checked in on his birth siblings to make sure they were doing well. He loved playing in the woods, riding his bike, taking walks by the ocean and listening to music.

He was predeceased by his father, Ralph Abbott; his grandfather Clifton Ward; and two uncles, George Ward and Clifton Ward Jr.

Nelson is survived by his mother, Marilyn Littlefield, of Searsport; seven sisters, Regina Cates of Brooks, Debbie Patten and her husband, Carroll, of Searsmont, Karen Philbrook and her husband, Kurt, of Ashland, Belinda Greenleaf and her husband, Butch, of Searsport, Lyn Dyer and her husband, Paul, of Swanville, Julie O’Brien and her husband, D.J., of Prospect and Sarah Pinkham of Searsport; a brother, Paul Whitney, and his wife, Regina, of New York; 11 nieces and 10 nephews; four great-nieces, a great-nephew on the way; and several friends.

Burial was at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Searsport.
