The Waldo County Sheriff’s office is seeking the public’s help in locating a large boat trailer that was reported missing from a summer home on Brown Road Sunday.

Waldo County Chief Deputy Bob Keating said the owner called to report the 22-foot Load Rite boat trailer missing Sunday at about 2:30 p.m. Keating said the owner, who lives in Massachusetts, reported that the trailer was apparently driven off his property sometime between Labor Day weekend and Sunday afternoon.

The trailer was apparently too large to house in a garage, and it was stored in the dooryard of the owner’s summer residence in Liberty.

Keating described the galvanized trailer as one that is large enough to carry a pontoon boat, and noted that it has a set of stairs attached. The trailer displays Massachusetts plates that carry the registration number 757459. It is valued at approximately $2,000.

Anyone with information about the whereabouts of the trailer is asked to contact police at 338-2040. Callers may remain anonymous.
