Despite having regular-season matches remaining, the teams who will advance to the Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class B team shootout/championship have emerged.

One of those squads is Belfast, the defending league titlist. The KVAC Class B shootout, which will be a nine-hole event on Thursday. Sept. 30 at 2:30 p.m. at the Bath Country Club, will include Belfast (7-2) and Lincoln Academy of Newcastle (9-0) from the South Division and Waterville (7-1) and Leavitt of Turner (8-1) from the North Division.

Lincoln Academy is unbeaten and looks to be the favorite to win the crown, but the other three teams should give the Eagles a run for their money. The KVAC titlist will receive an automatic bid to the state team championship tournament, while the others will combine with all KVAC Class B teams to participate in another league team/individual state qualifier.
