Belfast Area High School students brought their annual homecoming festivities to downtown Belfast, Sept. 24, briefly enlivening an otherwise quiet and overcast Friday afternoon.

The raucous parade included the high school marching band and a half-dozen floats, each overflowing with students wielding guitars, tiki torches, lion costumes and a surplus of school spirit.

The parade was gone as quickly as it came. Later that night, the homecoming festivities culminated in a football game between Belfast and Hampden Academy. Belfast lost 24 to 15.
