With Mother Nature expected to again rear her ugly head Friday with rain in the forecast, a handful of postponements of Midcoast high school athletic events have trickled in and the scheduled events will be pushed to later dates.

The Mount View boys and girls soccer matches scheduled for Friday against Gardiner have both been postponed to Monday, Oct. 4. On that day, the Mustang boys will travel to face the Tigers, while the Mount View girls will host Gardiner, with both games slated for 3:30 p.m.

Also postponed Friday is the island soccer showdown between visiting Vinalhaven and host Islesboro. That game has been moved to Friday, Oct. 8 at 3 p.m.

The Georges Valley boys home soccer game against St. Dominic of Lewiston has been pushed back a day from Friday to Saturday, Oct. 2 and will now kick off at 2 p.m. at Sam Pendleton Field. The game will follow the Georges Valley girls soccer contest, as the Bucs host Boothbay Region at noon.

The Medomak Valley soccer squads were to play Nokomis of Newport Friday, but those games have been moved to Monday, Oct. 4, with the Panther boys hosting the Warriors and Panther girls playing on the road, both in 3:30 p.m. games.

The Rockland boys soccer game scheduled for Friday at Winslow also has been postponed and will be made up next week.

The Camden Hills football team was to travel to Gardiner Friday for a 7 p.m. game, but that game has been shifted to Saturday, Oct. 2 at 4 p.m.
