Quote of the week — Oct. 6 edition

“I love tea. I drink it most every evening.”

— State Representative Veronica Magnan (D-Stockton Springs), at a candidate forum in Searsport Sunday, Oct. 3, when asked for her opinion of the Tea Party movement. Magnan, turning serious, went on to describe the movement as a “phenomenon,” one that is both “idealistic” and “driven.” She expressed concern that some of the fiscal solutions proposed by Tea Partiers — i.e., significant spending cuts — don’t always represent the “best possible approach.”
