Last year, Rockland District Middle School and Troy Howard Middle School shared the Busline League field hockey championship, but this season the Eagles want to grab the crown for themselves.

Although there was one final makeup game between Rockland/Thomaston and Camden-Rockport Middle School Oct. 12, the outcome of that game was not going to change the standings or pairings for the upcoming single-elimination playoffs.

The standings, not including the final makeup game, are: Rockland/Thomaston 7-0, Camden-Rockport 5-2, Great Salt Bay of Damariscotta 4-4, Troy Howard Middle School of Belfast 3-5 and Boothbay 0-8.

A quarterfinal playoff will be played next week, as No. 5 Boothbay will be at No. 4 Belfast on Wednesday, Oct. 13. The winner will play at No. 1 RDMS/TGS in the semifinals on Saturday, Oct. 16, with the winner of the semifinal advancing to the Busline League championship on Tuesday, Oct. 19 in Boothbay.

Also on Oct. 16, No. 3 Great Salt Bay will play at No. 2 Camden-Rockport Middle School in a semifinal game, with the winner also advancing to the league final Oct. 19.
