Mother Nature has reared her ugly head throughout the Midcoast Friday, resulting in a handful of postponements of area school athletic events.

Camden Hills and Mount View were scheduled to face off Friday, but both boys and girls soccer games have been moved to Saturday, Oct. 16. The Mustang girls will host the Windjammers at 10 a.m. in Thorndike, while the Windjammer boys will host the Mustangs at 10 a.m. on the artificial surface field at Point Lookout in Northport.

Friday’s soccer games between Vinalhaven and host Buckfield have been pushed to Saturday, Oct. 16, time to be determined.

The Belfast girls soccer team also was scheduled to host Leavitt of Turner Friday, but that game has been postponed to Monday, Oct. 18. The game will be 3:30 p.m. at Point Lookout in Northport.

Both Waldo County football teams — Belfast and Mount View — were scheduled to be in action Friday night on the road, but both games have been moved to Saturday, Oct. 16. Belfast will travel to face Morse of Bath, while Mount View will travel to Bucksport. Both games are slated for 7 p.m.

Camden Hills also was scheduled to have a home football game Saturday, Oct. 16 against Mount Desert Island, but that game has been pushed to Monday, Oct. 16 at 2:30 p.m. on Don Palmer Field.

Friday’s heavy rain, along with Saturday’s expected inclement weather, also has postponed Saturday’s Busline League soccer championships, which will now be played Tuesday, Oct. 19 at Wasgatt Field in Rockland. The coed championship between Lincolnville and Bristol will begin at 3 p.m., the girls championship between Rockland and Richmond at 5 p.m. and the boys championship between Thomaston and Wiscasset at 7 p.m.

Also Saturday, the Busline League semifinal field hockey playoff game between Rockland District Middle School/Thomaston Grammar School and Troy Howard Middle School has been moved to Monday, Oct. 18 at 3:30 p.m.
