Peter Frank Rolerson, 72, died Friday, Oct. 15, 2010, at his home.

Born in Camden Jan. 17, 1938, he was the son of Frank Hardy and Doris (Heald) Rolerson.

In 1941, the family moved to Hartford, Conn., where Peter attended schools and was a 1956 graduate of Glastonbury High School. The family enjoyed spending the summer months at their camp on Megunticook Lake. After high school, Peter worked for Pratt & Whitney until 1959, when he moved to his true love, the state of Maine.

He was employed at Pen Bay Ice Company in Rockport as one of the last ice delivery men. In 1961, he married Judith Young from Lincolnville. Peter’s true passion was spending time at sea, and he worked as a self-employed lobsterman fishing out of Rockport Harbor until his retirement in 2001. He continued working with Judy at their home business, Rolerson Crabmeat, which was well known by many businesses and families thorought Midcoast Maine.

Peter was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed spending many hours hunting everything from deer to mushrooms. Many of his native mushroom finds were published in the Camden Herald. He also enjoyed spending time on his ATV in the Lincolnville area.

He was predeceased by his father, Frank Rolerson.

Survivors include his loving wife, Judy Rolerson; his mother, Doris Rolerson, of Camden; a daughter, Wendy McCusker, and her husband, Paul; a son, Frank Rolerson, and his companion, Cindy McCarthy, all of Lincolnville; four grandchildren, Kyle Rolerson, Alyssa Rolerson, Nica McCusker and Eli McCusker; a brother-in-law, Bernard Young, and his wife, Rachel, of Lincolnville; two sisters-in-law, Rosemary Winslow and her husband, George, and Jackie Watts, all of Lincolnville; and many nieces and nephews.

In keeping with his wishes, there will be no service. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial gathering at 5 p.m., Friday, Oct. 22, at Tranquility Grange, Route 52, Lincolnville.
