David Ewing Balmforth, 56, died Friday, Oct. 15, 2010, at Seton Hospital in Austin, Texas, after a brief illness.
He was born May 31, 1954, in North Cranston, R.I.
Memorial services was held Tuesday, Oct. 19, at Hope Chapel, 6701 Arroyo Seco, Austin,Texas. In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to be directed to the American Diabetes Society (diabetes.org/donate/).
He was predeceased by a brother, Sandy.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda, of Austin, Texas; his parents, Harry and Barbara, of Belfast; a first cousin, Maxon Balmforth, of North Cranston, R.I.; a daughter, Sandy Thomas-Baker, and her husband, John Baker, of Austin, Texas; and three grandsons, Tommy Thomas, Austin Baker and Alec Baker, all of Austin, Texas.
David owned and operated a real-estate investment and management corporation in central Austin, Texas. He served as chairman of the board of ConneXion House Inc. He worshiped at Hope Chapel of Austin.
