The newest members of the Nickerson Elementary School community were recently brought into the school’s mission to make school days bully-free for every student.
Tuesday, Oct. 19, each student in Shelley Vaughan’s kindergarten class received a T-shirt that read, “Reach out in Friendship” after listening to an anti-bullying lesson.
Every student who attends Nickerson School has the same T-shirt, and all students wear them once a month at an all-school meeting. The monthly meeting is aimed at building the school community and promoting caring and friendship.
The Nickerson Parent Teacher Group funded the purchase of the T-shirts.
