The Mount View football squad finished its regular season with a 41-13 loss to host Maine Central Institute of Pittsfield Friday night; however, the Mustangs will get one more chance to notch their second win of the campaign next weekend.

That is because Mount View (1-7) will play at Dexter (0-8) on Saturday, time to be determined, in an end-of-the-season exhibition game. That gives teams in the region who did not qualify for the playoffs a chance to play an extra game.

Mount View finished 11th and Dexter 12th in the 12-team Eastern Class C region.

At Pittsfield Friday, MCI (5-3) scored 38 first-half points. The Huskies, ranked fourth in Eastern Class C, qualified for the playoffs for three straight years for the first time since MCI joined the Little Ten Conference in 1977.

MCI will host its first playoff game since 2000.

Craig Reazor rushed for a touchdown, passed for another and kicked a field goal to lead the Huskies against Mount View. He scored on a one-yard rush in the first stanza and coverted a 15-yard scoring pass to Ryan Gamblin in the second quarter. He also kicked a 22-yard field goal in the third.

Tyler Maloon returned a kick 82 yards for a touchdown in the first quarter and ran in a score from six yards in the second.

Britton Moholland finished with two touchdowns — on 12-yard and 40-yard runs — both in the first quarter.

For the Mustangs, Aaron Santana rushed 60 yards in the first quarter to score. Jalen Babin also completed a 68-yard scoring pass to Taylor Reynolds in the third stanza for Mount View.
