Rainy weather has put a damper on one regional boys soccer playoff game but may not foil another.

Camden Hills and Mount View were scheduled to play Eastern Class B quarterfinal playoff games on Wednesday, Oct. 27, but rain has forced the postponement of the Windjammer contest to Thursday, Oct. 28. According to Mount View officials, the Mustangs are making the long bus ride to Aroostook County to play Wednesday’s game.

No. 2 Camden Hills (14-0-1 overall, including winning the Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class B championship) was to host No. 7 John Bapst of Bangor (6-6-2) on Wednesday, but that game now will be Thursday, Oct. 28 at 3 p.m. on Don Palmer Field.

Meanwhile, No. 6 Mount View (7-5-2) will play at No. 3 Presque Isle (12-1-1) on Wednesday, Oct. 27 at 4 p.m.

The Windjammers do not play the Crusaders, nor do the Mustangs play the Wildcats, during the regular season. Mount View did face Presque Isle in last year’s playoffs, falling 3-2 in overtime.

If Camden Hills and Mount View win their respective quarterfinal playoff games, they will meet in Rockport in a semifinal playoff contest over the weekend.

Camden Hills athletic director Bill Hughes said a decision on the times and days of the Camden Hills girls semifinal soccer playoff, along with the Windjammer football quarterfinal playoff against Belfast, all slated for the weekend, will be finalized by Thursday, Oct. 28.
