Police are investigating an incident involving a cinder block that was apparently thrown from the roof of the Colonial Theatre late Friday night, Oct. 29.

Belfast Police Chief Jeff Trafton said no one was hurt when the cinder block was thrown, but it smashed out the windshield of a 2009 Pontiac that belonged to an employee of the theater.

The complaint came in to police at 11:36 p.m. Friday. Trafton said police suspect a pair of juveniles were involved, and Patrolman Dan Fitzpatrick is still investigating the incident this week.

Trafton said when officers arrived at the scene, a neighbor showed them how two people climbed onto the roof of the theater earlier in the evening. It appeared that the cinder block was one of the ones used to help stabilize the elephant on the roof.
