Virgil D. Pendleton Sr., 75, died Saturday, Oct. 30, 2010, at his home surrounded by his family. He was the oldest son of Lester and Laura (Hall) Pendleton.

He was predeceased by his parents.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Estelle “Pat” Fern (Gray) Pendleton; two sons, Virgil D. Pendleton and his wife, Melody, and Clifford J. Pendleton and his wife, Angie; two daughters, Debra L. Pendleton and Ruthe P. Gray; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 10 siblings, Virginia Dyer, Daniel Pendleton, Kenneth Pendleton, Clifford Pendleton, Wayne Pendleton, Warren Pendleton, Loretta Frontin, Anna Fields, Jerry Pendleton, Lucinda Carpentier, Lyndon Pendleton and their families.

He was man of many hobbies and talents, including hunting, fishing and gardening; he once shot a trophy moose. He always included family and friends in his assorted adventures. His kind heart, sense of humor and helping hand will be missed by all who knew him. One of his favorite sayings was, “Aw hell, I’m all right!”

A celebration of Virgil’s life will be held at noon Saturday, Nov. 6, at Ruthe’s home.
