A one-car accident on Route 137 Friday afternoon, Nov. 12, resulted in minor injuries for the driver and about $4,000 in damage to the vehicle involved.

Monika A. Fellows, 55, of Unity was headed east on Route 137 in Freedom in her 2002 Ford at about 2:30 p.m. when she came up behind another vehicle after cresting a hill. According to the accident report on file at the Waldo County Sheriff’s office, Fellows either attempted to pass or panicked and slammed on the brakes.

Fellows lost control of her car, skidding off the right side of the road. The vehicle eventually rolled over, and came to rest on its wheels.

Delta Ambulance Corps personnel responded to the scene, as Fellows complained of pain in her neck as a result of the crash. The accident report indicated that Fellows was treated for her injuries at the scene.

Fellows was reportedly wearing her seat belt at the time of the accident.
