Thomas Felix Mixon, 98, died Oct. 26, 2010, in Belfast.

He was born Sept. 11, 1912, in Lynn, Mass., a son of Simon and Elizabeth (Murphy) Mikszenas.

Tom had a 20-year career in the Marines, where he attained the rank of chief warrant officer three. He was stationed around the United States and in the Philippines during World War II. He lived on Cape Cod and in Jamaica Plain, Mass. He moved to Maine with his wife in the 1970s to be near their lifelong friend, Cissie Grady. In Tom’s later years he enjoyed making generous donations to local charities and nonprofit organizations.

He was predeceased by his wife of 65 years, Louise (Adamo) Mixon; three brothers, Alfred, William and Christy; and a sister, Alice.

He is survived by a nephew, Richard K. Mikszenas, and his wife, Terri, of Clearwater, Fla.; and a niece, Elaine Tabacinski.

Thomas and his wife, Louise, will be laid to rest at Holyhood Cemetery in Chestnut Hill, Mass.
