The Searsport Fire Department is planning a day with Santa Claus that will begin with a tour around town Saturday, Dec. 11.

Searsport Fire Chief Jim Dittmeier reported that the man in the red suit would start his ride around town at 9 a.m., and that he planned to visit downtown apartment complexes along the way.

At 11 a.m., Santa will be at the Dan Rich Public Safety Building to pose for photos with area children. Dittmeier said anyone who brings in a donation of a new toy for the Belfast-based Wings of Love program would get his or her picture taken with Santa, free of charge.
